Mailman: Owner and Usage Policy
Mailman policy and usage information.
Mailman is a resource provided and operated with Washington State funds and its use is governed by federal and state laws and policies, as well as Washington State University policies. You may establish and use Mailman lists only for activities related to WSU research, education, or administration.
Mailman lists may be established for WSU faculty, staff or graduate students who need a list to further their work at the University. Undergraduate students may request a list but a list sponsor is required. The list sponsor needs to be a full-time WSU faculty or staff member (most likely the Faculty/Staff Advisor to the student group or organization).
All Mailman lists must have at least one owner who is a current WSU faculty, staff, or graduate student. At least one of the owner email addresses has to be a valid WSU email address. Additional owners do not have to be affiliated with WSU. Send email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions on whether you qualify to be a Mailman list owner. Any list that does not meet these requirements may be discontinued. Sufficient warning will be given to list owners before the list is discontinued.
