Blackboard: I Was Submitting My Assignment but Now It Is Gone

A walkthrough of what to do in the case of an assignment or exam being gone in Blackboard

Blackboard: I Was Submitting My Assignment but Now It Is Gone
It is very likely that the information you provided is gone. Blackboard does not have the ability to save your document as you are writing it. If you experience this issue, you will want to contact your instructor immediately to let them know what has happened.
The general reasons for this occurring are:

  • Your browser was refreshed

  • The internet connection failed

  • The browser session's time ran out

(Editor's Note: The issue of your internet connection failing is one that can generally go unnoticed. It happens the most during Exams and using wireless. With wireless, your connection can waver depending on usage in the environment. Blackboard also will not inform you that your session lapsed until you try to submit or go to another page. Some Exams require that you finish it all in one sitting. Meaning, when your wireless wavers, disconnecting you for even a second, will result in a lapse of a session. That is why it is important to use a wired connection.)
